The Simple Woman's Daybook

For Today...May 3, 2009

Outside my window...the sun is trying to peek through the clouds

I am thinking...I should be going to the grocery store instead of blogging ; )

I am thankful for...safety during weekend storms. The kids and I were in La. visiting my sister and my in-laws when severe storms passed through. Many trees were uprooted near my sister's home and power lines were down. They are without electricity and water still today. Thankful everyone was kept from harm.

From the learning rooms...today's work is almost done!! Lesson plans are ready for the next few weeks as we try to finish up.

From the kitchen...homemade guacamole and bean burritos for lunch.

I am wearing...jeans and a sweater

I am creating...a plan for the weekend

I am going...to the grocery store when I finish this post

I am reading...new curriculum catalogs trying to decide for sure about next year's curriculum

I am hoping...to clean off a table in my bedroom - which means putting a year's worth of photos in order and in books.

I am hearing...birds singing; Rachel asking questions about her geography review pages

Around the house...catching up on laundry from the weekend

One of my favorite things...getting to spend the weekend with my sister. Spent last weekend there - went to a wedding shower for my niece.

A few plans for the rest of the week...a family trip to Branson, MO for the weekend!!!

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

This Painted Bunting visited our bird feeder this morning!! We were so excited to see it. Robert sees them occasionally on his drive to work but we've never seen one at our house. We've watched for him to return but so far, we haven't seen him.
